Author statement

I like writing because I am good at it. I love writing for performance as well as for the page. I started off wanting to be a normal writer but then I discovered that I was good at performing. I've written and played characters such as a venomous DJ groupie called D. J. Bird, a hairspray-hardened bus groupie, urban teenagers, northern indie kids, 1940s movie throwbacks, fitness fanatics, murderers and Shoreditch locals. To really bring literature and the characters within literature to life onstage, is a very exciting thing.
